Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026: What’s New and Is It Worth It?

Halloween is arriving earlier than ever at Walt Disney World!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returns to Magic Kingdom on select nights from August 7 through October 31, 2026. The separately ticketed celebration combines trick-or-treating, rare Disney characters, attraction overlays and some of the best seasonal entertainment Disney offers.

With new experiences featuring Stitch and Captain Jack Sparrow joining the party this year, there may be more reasons than ever to add this Halloween event to your Disney World vacation.

Halloween Arrives Earlier Than Ever in 2026

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party begins on August 7 this year—a full week earlier than it did in 2025.

The event takes place from 7:00 PM until midnight, but party ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4:00 PM. You do not need a regular theme park ticket or park reservation if you are entering with only your Halloween Party ticket at or after 4:00 PM.

Tickets range from $119 to $229 per person, plus tax, depending on the date. Annual Passholders and eligible Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 on select parties held between August 7 and October 2.

Several dates are already selling out, so this is not an event we recommend leaving until the last minute—especially if you have only one possible party night during your vacation.

What’s New at the 2026 Halloween Party?

Many of the party’s most popular experiences are returning, but Disney has also announced a couple of new additions for 2026.

A New Masquerade With Stitch

Stitch is taking over the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland with help from Lilo and Angel.

During this new, continuously changing masquerade, Stitch will explore Lilo’s costume trunk. Each new accessory will change the party’s theme, creating different music, costumes and surprises throughout the evening.

This sounds like a fun addition for families, Lilo & Stitch fans and anyone looking for entertainment that does not require waiting for a scheduled performance.

Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Antics

Adventureland will also receive some new entertainment.

Captain Jack Sparrow has dropped anchor for what Disney describes as a series of spirited pirate antics. Disney has not released a complete schedule or detailed description yet, but the experience should bring more atmosphere and live entertainment to an area that can sometimes feel quieter during the party.

More Surprises Along the Treat Trails

Disney has also teased additional familiar—and possibly villainous—faces appearing around the trick-or-treat trails.

Exact locations have not been released, but this could make collecting candy feel more like an attraction instead of simply moving from one distribution station to another.

The Returning Entertainment You Should Not Miss

The new additions are exciting, but the party’s returning entertainment remains its biggest selling point.

Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade

The Boo-to-You Parade continues to be one of the highlights of the entire Disney World Halloween season.

The parade begins with the Headless Horseman and includes Haunted Mansion characters, grave diggers, Disney villains and classic characters dressed for Halloween. Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and Clarabelle Cow also appear dressed as the Sanderson Sisters.

The parade is currently scheduled for 8:15 PM and 11:15 PM. The later performance will often be the easier one to fit into your evening, particularly for guests who can comfortably stay until midnight.

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular

Jack Skellington hosts this Halloween fireworks and projection show above Cinderella Castle.

The story follows Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy into a mysterious haunted house filled with ghosts, skeletons and Disney villains. The show combines fireworks, projections, lighting and lasers and is currently scheduled for 10:00 PM.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

The Sanderson Sisters return to the Cinderella Castle stage with help from villains including Oogie Boogie, Maleficent and Dr. Facilier.

With live performers, dancers, projections and special effects, this is more than a quick castle-stage appearance. It is one of the party’s signature productions and should be considered a priority for Hocus Pocus fans.

Attractions With a Halloween Twist

Many Magic Kingdom attractions remain open throughout the event, including TRON Lightcycle / Run, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan’s Flight.

A few attractions also receive special party enhancements:

  • Space Mountain operates in complete darkness with spooky music.
  • Mad Tea Party features Halloween lighting and atmospheric effects.
  • Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor becomes part of the trick-or-treat experience.

These overlays are fun, but we would not make regular attractions the main focus of the night. Most rides can be experienced during an ordinary Magic Kingdom day. The parade, fireworks, stage shows and Halloween characters are exclusive to the party.

Trick-or-Treating, Characters and Halloween Food

Guests receive a complimentary treat bag and can collect candy at stations throughout Magic Kingdom. Guests with food allergies can request a teal bag and exchange tokens for allergy-friendly treats at designated locations.

Disney characters will also appear in special Halloween costumes, including characters around Storybook Circus. Although Disney has not yet published the complete 2026 character lineup, previous parties have included rare combinations and characters who are difficult to meet during regular park hours.

Be prepared for some character lines to become very long. Choose one or two must-meet characters instead of trying to meet everyone.

Disney has also previewed several Halloween menu items for 2026, including:

  • Minnie Witch Hat at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café
  • Bowl of Bones at The Friar’s Nook
  • Buzzard Wings at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café

More party food and allergy-friendly options are expected to be announced closer to the first event.

How to Make the Most of Your Party Ticket

Five hours sounds like plenty of time—until you begin adding parades, fireworks, characters, candy, attractions, food and photos.

To avoid spending the night rushing from one side of Magic Kingdom to the other, decide on three main priorities before arriving.

A strong plan would be:

  1. Enter Magic Kingdom at 4:00 PM.
  2. Eat an early dinner before the party officially begins.
  3. Complete any high-priority character greetings before 7:00 PM when possible.
  4. Watch the fireworks at 10:00 PM.
  5. Attend the second Boo-to-You Parade at 11:15 PM.
  6. Collect candy and ride attractions between scheduled entertainment.

Try not to spend the entire party waiting for regular rides or sitting down for a long dinner. You are paying for experiences that are available only during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so those should receive most of your attention.

Is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Worth It in 2026?

For the right guest, absolutely.

The ticket is expensive, especially for families or guests attending one of the higher-priced October events. It is also impossible to experience everything in a single night.

However, the Boo-to-You Parade, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular and Not-So-Spooky Spectacular create a complete evening of entertainment before you even consider the characters, candy, ride overlays and Halloween atmosphere.

The 2026 additions are not a complete reinvention of the party, but the Stitch masquerade and Captain Jack Sparrow entertainment should help make the park feel livelier between the major scheduled shows.

This event will be most worthwhile for:

  • Disney fans who love Halloween
  • Guests interested in rare characters
  • Families looking for a festive rather than frightening Halloween event
  • Repeat visitors who want experiences unavailable during a regular park day
  • Guests who can enter at 4:00 PM and stay close to midnight

Guests primarily interested in riding attractions may find better value in a regular Magic Kingdom ticket or another after-hours event.

Final Thoughts

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party remains one of Walt Disney World’s most popular seasonal traditions.

The 2026 event keeps the entertainment fans already love while adding new energy to Tomorrowland and Adventureland. Between Stitch’s unpredictable masquerade, Captain Jack Sparrow’s pirate adventures, the Boo-to-You Parade and an entire Magic Kingdom filled with Halloween details, this year’s party has the ingredients for another memorable spooky season.

Just remember: you will not be able to do everything.

Choose your priorities, arrive early, wear a comfortable costume and save some room in your bag for candy.
